Avapro Uses
Avapro is in a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Avapro prevents the constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels (veins and arteries). Avapro is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease caused by diabetes).
How To Use Avapro
Take Trimox exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food. Do not crush, chew, or break any form of Avapro. Swallow the pills whole. Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you.
Avapro Side Effects
This drug may cause following serious side effects : an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives), or little or no urine. Other side effects are less serious. Continue to take Avapro and talk to your doctor if you experience diarrhea or upset stomach, swelling, muscle pain, cramps, or backache, dizziness, headache, insomnia, or congestion or cough (very unlikely).
Avapro Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, including:have kidney disease, have liver disease, are on a salt-restricted diet or have high levels of potassium in your blood, or are taking a potassium supplement (e.g., K-Dur, Klor-Con, others), or a potassium-sparing diuretic such as amiloride (Midamor), triamterene (Dyrenium, Dyazide, Maxzide), or spironolactone (Aldactone). . Avapro should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Ask your doctor Before breast-feeding a baby. Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Avapro may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Alcohol may further lower blood pressure and increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking Avapro.
Avapro Drug Interactions

Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Avapro.

Avapro Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, weakness, fainting, fatigue, and chest pain.
Avapro Notes
Do not share Avapro with others.
Avapro Missed Dose
If you miss an Avapro dosage, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Avapro Storage
Store Avapro at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
